We love spending time in the garden together.
We hope you do, too.
When we converted a sunny but unused part of our lawn into a vegetable garden, we didn't know we were about to go on a great learning journey. From measuring out the plot, building a fence to deter deer, planning the layout of our raised beds, researching the best local soil and deciding what to plant where, we discovered the joy of creating what we call "our farm" together. During the busy growing season, we find all kinds of excuses to "go check on the farm."
In the beginning, it was to see if any seeds were poking tiny leaves up through the soil. Then we'd cheer on each new leaf, marvelling at how quickly stalks would grow. We watched in awe as tendrils wrapped around our trellises and supports, and listened to all kinds of bees feasting on blossoms. And nothing beats the satisfaction of nibbling snap peas straight off the vine while picking lettuce and other goodies for a great meal. We found great joy, peace and satisfaction in the process.
